Welcome

NeuroInterventional Therapeutics, Inc.
("NIT", dba Neurointerventions, Inc.) is a Pittsburgh-based company which designs and manufactures advanced catheter systems used to find, trap, and extract thrombus ("blood clots") in a wide range of cerebral vessels, thereby increasing chances of survival and minimizing disability.

NIT's mission is to maximize patient recovery and save lives. The Company was founded by world renowned leaders in neurology, neurosurgery, interventional cardiology, micro-engineering and medical device development.

NIT's catheters will enable physicians to extend the applicability of interventional procedures to a wide variety of clinical conditions. NIT's catheters will benefit patients, physicians, hospitals and insurance companies by improving clinical outcomes through shortened and more effective treatment, permitting more complex procedures due to delivery simplicity and by improving patient recovery times.

Stroke...Time is of the Essence

The Company’s market entry product is a catheter used to quickly, safely, and completely remove the thrombus from a patient who has suffered an ischemic stroke. In doing so, blood supply to the brain is restored, minimizing the extent of neurological damage. The market for this type of procedure is potentially large: in the United States, approximately 780,000 strokes occur each year, including both new and recurrent cares. Of the yearly stroke occurrences, approximately 87 percent are ischemic strokes, the blockage of an artery to the brain. By the year 2050, the annual number of strokes is expected to reach 1 million.

We are currently testing the NIT system, a device that deliver benefits through:

  1. fast access
  2. quick recanalization
  3. complete removal of thrombus from the MCA
